Copyright and licensing

If you would like to use an image of an artwork or design by an artist who is represented by Bábbarra Women’s Centre, you need to request an image license and you may need to pay a fee. This applies to all uses of the image, including in an article, book, film, merchandise, advertisement or any kind of online publication.

Copyright Agency manages copyright licensing requests on behalf of the artists represented by Maningrida Arts & Culture and Babbarra Women’s Centre. If you want to obtain an image licence or you have copyright enquiries about artwork by artists from the Maningrida region, please contact Copyright Agency.

Fabric Use:

Bábbarra Designs fabric is intended for personal projects. For commercial and profit making projects, please note that our retail price excludes artist licensing fees. Buyers are responsible for securing any necessary artwork licenses. Copyright Agency manages licensing requests on behalf of the artists represented by Bábbarra Women’s Centre. Best practice manufacturing ensures that artists receive fair profits for their indigenous Cultural intellectual property.

Money-back guarantee

It is very important to us that you are happy with your purchase. If not, we will refund you for the value of the artwork, minus the freight costs. You must notify the art centre within 10 days of receiving the artwork if you are not fully satisfied. You need only pay the cost of returning the fabric to the art centre. The artwork must be returned in its original condition with all of its accompanying documentation for the guarantee to apply.

Artwork availability

Bábbarra Women’s Centre works to ensure that all items for purchase on the website are available and correctly priced. Enquiries about artwork will be addressed as soon as possible to confirm availability; however, on occasion, power outages and other impediments of our remote location mean that we may not always be able to respond in a timely manner.

Artworks on consignment

We offer stock on consignment for the purpose of exhibition or display.  For enquiries, please email babbarra@bawinanga.org.au

Wholesale

If you purchase Babbarra Designs fabric at wholesale rates for profit-making purposes, please note that the listed price does not include artist licensing fees. The responsibility for obtaining any necessary artwork licensing lies with the buyer. Wholesale minimums are $2000.00  While we don’t have much capacity for custom printing orders in community, we can liaise with external printers on orders over 20 metres.

Currency

All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars.

Delivery

Please clearly nominate a delivery address.  Please nominate a mobile telephone number for tracking purposes.

Every effort is made to dispatch artworks as quickly as possible, but specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Please keep in mind that you are purchasing from a remote community. Minimum delivery time is usually one to two weeks after the item has been dispatched by Bábbarra Women’s Centre.

Our nearest courier service is 500 kilometres away in Darwin.

Duties and taxes

When shipping artworks overseas, the purchaser is liable for any duties or taxes payable specific to the country of import.

Freight charges

Artwork is shipped out of Maningrida via Australia Post via Air North. Our shipping rates are $17 for domestic post (up to two items). An additional fee of $3 is charged when you purchase 3 items.

International post starts at $60 for registered international post.

Payment methods

Bábbarra Women’s Centre accepts the following methods of payment:

Credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and Amex only.

Direct bank transfer: please contact us for details. Ensure that the payment description includes your name and invoice number.

Artwork is freighted or posted once payment has been confirmed.
