Jennifer Gandjalamirriwuy

Biography

Jennifer creates bold linocut designs at Bábbarra Women’s Centre, depicting stories of her country and ceremonial objects. She is also a talented basket weaver and has strong knowledge of botanical plants and natural dyes for weaving.

Jennifer learned to be a skilful sewer and jewellery maker in Milingimbi. She left her island home to live in Manayingkarrírra (Maningrida) with her partner. Family from Milingimbi work alongside her at Bábbarra Women’s Centre.
